As I get older, Christmas gets less and less exciting each year and I hate this! So I try so hard to get myself into the Christmas Spirit and normally because I have uni work, it is always last minute, so these are a few tips on how to get into the Christmas Spirit-last min!
Christmas Songs
This is an obvious one! Listen to Christmas songs and sing along and it will get you into the Christmas Spirit, there are so many Christmas songs and I have made a Christmas Playlist on Spotify that I know I will be jamming to the next few days! My favourite is Merry Christnas(Wherever You Are) By Lower Than Atlantis, give it a listen!
Shopping
Who is guilty of last-minute shopping? I hate leaving things until the last minute so I always get a head start on my Christmas shopping. But it is a great way to get into the Christmas Spirit because shopping centres will have the most beautiful Christmas decorations up! I will warn you though, it will be very busy!
Reading
Pick up a Christmas or Winter themed book or magazine and give it a read around Christmas time! These are the two books I have chosen to read this Christmas. I have already read Snow Country By Yasunari Kawabata which is set in Japan and a man goes up the mountains to find a Geisha he is in love with. This is a very romantic (slightly boring) but VERY wintery themed book! It is very short so a quick read. The descriptive writing is lovely, I just wish the plot was more interesting. This book was lovely to read whilst drinking a hot chocolate. I am currently about halfway through One Christmas in Paris by Mandy Baggot. This is another love story, set in Paris (one of my fave cities). This book also has a massive theme of culture in Paris and Photography which I am very interested in!
Christmas Scents
I think Christmas scents will be different for everyone. To me, the smells are that I associate with Christmas are sweet, minty and spicy smells. The Christmas Collection at Lush is AMAZING, there are so many different scents. In the next few days, you should all go grab some bath products and treat yourself to a Chrismassy smelling bath! My Christmas Eve bath is going to consists of the products that are in The Night Before Christmas Gift which are Shoot For The Stars Bath Bomb and Christmas Eve Bubble Bar! Twilight is a very very very relaxing lavender scent, so on Christmas Eve I will also be using the Twilight Shower Gel and Body Spray and hopefully, it will help me sleep. I am also loving the Yankee Candle scent “Christmas Cookie”!! Relaxing whilst the room around you smells like something festival is surely going to make you feel in the mood for Christmas. What Christmas scents are you loving?
Garden Centres and Markets
There will be lots of other places you can visit that will get you into the Christmas Spirit at this time of the year. I am sure if you visit a Garden Centre it will be beautifully decorated. Even if you do not buy anything, it is nice to have a look at! It took me ages to visit the Christmas Market in Nottingham and now I have, I keep going back because the stalls are so pretty. I keep buying mini dutch pancakes with chocolate sauce from one of the stalls haha!
This will be my last post until 2018(I think) so I hope you all have a lovely Christmas or a lovely break from work and I hoped you enjoyed reading x x x
Christmas movies without fail get me into the Christmas spirit but this year I was lacking a little, so I actually for the first time brought myself a Christmas book which was what ultimately got me in the full swing of Christmas. Merry Christmas!

yeah they always have such nice food there! Thank you, have a great Christmas too! xxx
I agree it sucks that it gets harder to feel festive as you get older, I\’m always so envious of those people who get super excited all by themselves. Markets are what do it for me, always leave me feeling warm and happy. And snow but that\’s a little harder x
