🍂My 5 Top Tips On How To Get To Sleep🍂

I have always had trouble sleeping, it is such a pain especially when you have to be up early in the morning. Over the years I have found ways to help me sleep, hopefully, some of these ways will help you guys if you have trouble sleeping. This is my 5 top tips for falling asleep!

1)  Sleepy Body Lotion

I’m sure you have all heard about how amazing this product is and this isn’t very original but this product is truly amazing. The Lush product Sleepy is a body lotion which has gotten a lot of attention recently. People have said this body lotion has helped with sleep, relaxation and their mental health. I have been using this product for about a year now and nothing is nicer than getting into bed with baby smooth legs and smelling like lavender and biscuits. I feel more relaxed when I use this product and I think it is mostly to do with the smell. The smell lingers and is SO relaxing. Lavender is the main ingredients as well as Ylang Ylang and Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter. The scent of lavender is extremely relaxing for you and is well known for helping people to fall asleep.  Sleepy dissolves into your skin and leaves you feeling so soft, this is one of my favorite Lush products ever and I definitely recommend it! I can see why this product helps with mental health such as anxiety because it is extremely relaxing.

 

2) No Caffeine

So this one is quite random, I used to have a cup of tea every single night before I went to bed and when I stopped doing this, I noticed I fell to sleep easier. There is a lot more caffeine in tea than you think. I definitely recommend avoiding tea, coffee and hot chocolate before bed as all contain sugar or caffeine and will make your mind more active (if you struggle to sleep). If you are a hot drink lover like me then there are so many flavored teas without caffeine you can try. Or just wait until the morning for your hot drink!

 

 3) Comfort

I am sure you will all agree with me when I say getting new cute PJs is extremely satisfying. The PJs pictured are from Primark! There were loads of Disney ones available but I had to get these adorable Thumper ones. I think being comfortable is important when going to bed. Having a comfortable bed, pillows, blankets, cute pjs etc etc. I like wearing shorts to bed the most because I normally cream my legs and then I can feel how soft they are. For me, the nicer I feel physically the nicer I feel mentally (sometimes haha) and if I am wearing cute comfy pjs then I am going to feel more relaxed- then it will be easier for me to fall to sleep!

 

4) Reading

I love reading in bed for multiple reasons. Firstly, getting yourself involved in a good book immediately stops you from thinking about other things. I have difficulties falling asleep for many reasons but one of them is anxiety. I worry too much and because of this, I cannot fall to sleep. To take my mind off my anxieties I find reading a book massively helps. Also, reading really does make me tired, I never end up reading in bed for long because my eyes start to go! I don’t get a lot of free time so reading at night is something I like to do which puts me in a good mood.

 5) Positivity 

One of the most important things I recommend is never going to sleep feeling awful. I know this is easier said than done and I do not succeed in doing this a lot, to be honest. But, if you’re in a positive happy mood, you’re more likely to fall asleep easier then if you’re sad or stressed out. I am still learning myself how to be positive at night time but the things I have mentioned above helps. I have the “Calm” book and there is a quote in there that I love-  “When I am tired and cannot sleep I count my blessings instead of sheep” and I think this is a really sweet, positive thing to always think.

    Great tips! Sometimes I struggle to get to sleep and one thing that usually helps me is a cup of nice warm milk! Reading usually helps as well 🙂

    I\’ve had insomnia, it\’s the worst. I like lighting a candle while I read in bed, then when I put it out I have the scent to enjoy as I drift off.

    Reading is one of my fave ways of feeling sleepy.
    Usually I like to watch a good tv show and then pretend I’m the main character in my head. The next thing I know, it’s the next morning 😴
