So Fenty Beauty is finally here and of course, I had to try it out as soon as possible. How could I not want to when it is cruelty-free, reasonably priced and created by RIHANNA. Not only that, Fenty Beauty is a make-up line which everyone is included in. Rihanna has focused on creating products for all skin types and tones. I am going to tell you what I think of the Fenty Beauty Product “Killawatt” Highlighter.
🌸Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter Duo🌸
Price: For Killawatt highlighter which includes 2 different colours cost only £26! I think this is a very reasonable price, I mean of course it would be nice for it to be cheaper but I expected it to be A LOT more. Rihanna has made sure her makeup is at an affordable price. 8/10
Packaging: As you can see from the pictures, this highlighter duo comes nicely packaged in a cardboard box. The box is designed and has lots of information written on it. Inside the box is the highlighter itself. The white shimmer plastic white octagon shaped case is actually quite difficult to open I think. That is a downfall with the packaging, not sure if anyone else has struggled to open it but I do. However, the packaging is brilliant for protection. I have accidentally dropped my Killawatt Highlighter onto hard, wooden floor and my life flashed before my eyes, haha! But there was not one single crack in the pressed highlighter!! You get a decent amount of product which is neatly pressed. 9.5/10
Formula and Pigmentation: This highlighter is super soft and creamy, and there is absolutely no fallout which I LOVE. So there is no mess! The formula is super blendable. I have been using a Real Techniques highlighter brush and I think if I used a different better brush, the highlighter would be even more blendable. Because the powder of the highlighter is so smooth and light, it makes it not only blendable put also buildable. You can build up the product to get a more intense colour. Whilst blending or building the highlighter, it does not rub off your face or move the foundation underneath. However, this might be different depending on the brush you use and foundation you are wearing. The pigmentation is extremely good but how well the product stands out on your skin will vary on your skin tone. Rihanna has made these products for all skin tones, so the highlighter will, of course, be visible. The swatches of the two colours don’t give the pigmentation justice. 9/10
Lightning Dust– The highlighter is described as a “Soft Pearlescent Sheen“. On my skin, this highlighter appears to be a very light pink. There is a very gentle shimmer It appears to be very natural and gives you a glow. I reckon this highlighter will be more obvious on darker skin more than light brown skinned people like myself. This shade looks beautiful applied onto my cheekbones. I also apply this shade to my nose, I am not a massive fan of “nose highlight” but I loved this on my nose because it gave it a cute little shine. Lightning Dust also looked amazing under my brow bone. Because this highlighter is very natural looking, you can wear it on many different occasions. 10/10
Fire Crystal – The highlighter is described as a “Supercharged Pearlescent Shimmer”. I think both colours have a rose gold tint to them, but I think this one does slightly more. Fire Crystal is a lot more pink, glittery and brighter than Lightning Dust and because of this, it gives my cheeks/cheekbones more colour. This highlighter definitely appears more shimmery and glittery. I think this would look great as an eyeshadow but I am yet to try. Overall, I cannot fault the colours, they are beautiful. 10/10
I love Rihanna so you might think this review is a bit basised, but this product is amazing! I cannot wait to try the rest of her range which I will be purchsding and reviwing soon! Unfortunately, not all of the Fenty Beauty range is Vegan including this product. So because of that, 9.5/10.
(I apologise that some of the pictures aren’t very clear :/// )
